Welcome to Captivate Strings

Hi Fellow Educators, Welcome to my new blog about the Captivate Strings Program currently implemented across 10 Catholic Primary Schools and 1 Catholic Secondary School in the Diocese of Parramatta – Western Sydney, Australia. We will be celebrating and discussing student achievement, intrinsic motivation and exciting new ways of teaching and learning – in music education but also across the curriculum.

The “Strings Things” program is based on a teaching method that I have authored and published – now at 2 levels – and is implemented across 10 of our primary schools as a classroom music program. ALL students in a school with String Things play violin, viola, cello or double bass in years 3, 4 or 5 in a class orchestra. Students are also offered group lessons with our team of specialist strings teachers and can also play in our school ensembles and our combined Captivate String Orchestra.Image
